How outcomes reach GeoSwap after a redirect or link sends a visitor elsewhere
Geo Content, Geo Bars, and Geo Popups show their variant on the page the visitor is already on — the page running the GeoSwap script. Nothing extra is needed to measure what the visitor does next: the script is already there.
Geo Redirects and Geo Links are different. A split sends the visitor's browser to a whole new URL — possibly on a different domain entirely. For GeoSwap to know whether that visitor bounced or stuck around on the destination, something has to carry the variant across that jump.
When a split redirect or link sends a visitor to a new URL, GeoSwap appends a small gs_arm parameter to that URL naming the variant the visitor was shown. This happens on the destination URL for any split redirect or link — not just ones you've listed anywhere.
If the destination page also runs the GeoSwap script, the script reads gs_arm on load, records the exposure, and removes the parameter from the address bar — the visitor never sees it linger in the URL.
If the destination doesn't run the GeoSwap script (a site that isn't yours, or one that doesn't have the script installed), the redirect or click still happens normally, and it's still counted as an impression — the destination simply ignores the extra parameter. What you won't get is an Exposed count, bounce, pages-per-session, or time-on-page data for that variant, since nothing on the destination side reports it back. A rule split between a page that runs the script and one that doesn't will never reach a confidence label — GeoSwap needs 100 exposures on both variants before it will call a winner.
GeoSwap never appends gs_arm to a URL that already carries a signature parameter (for example, a presigned S3 or Google Cloud Storage download link). Adding a parameter would invalidate the signature, so those destinations are left untouched — the split still happens, but no outcome marker is added.
There's no list of sites to add and no setting to turn this on. Once the destination page runs the GeoSwap script, outcome tracking for a split redirect or link just works. See Reading Results for what shows up once it does.
