Split test your geo-targeting to find what works best
Split traffic between two versions and see which performs better. No separate A/B testing tool needed — it's built right into GeoSwap.
A/B testing is available on Geo Links, Geo Content, Geo Bars, and Geo Popups. Test different destinations, messages, and offers for different regions — then let the data tell you what converts.
Set up a rule in any supported product (Geo Links, Geo Content, Geo Bars, or Geo Popups) and target a segment.
Toggle "Enable Traffic Split" on the variant and set your split percentage. For example, 70% see Version A and 30% see Version B.
Each visitor is randomly assigned to a version. GeoSwap keeps them consistent across visits — the same person always sees the same version for the duration of the test.
Compare performance between Version A and Version B in your analytics dashboard. See views, clicks, and conversions broken down by variant.
Different products let you test different things. Here are some real-world examples:
Here's how to set up an A/B test in any supported product, step by step:
Open Geo Content, Geo Bars, Geo Popups, or Geo Links from your dashboard sidebar.
Start a new rule or open an existing one that you want to test.
Select the variant you want to split test. This is where your Version A content lives.
This opens the B variant editor where you can enter your alternative content or URL.
Add the alternative content (HTML or URL, depending on the product) that you want to test against the original.
Choose how much traffic goes to Version B (1–99%). The rest goes to Version A. Start with 50/50 for the fastest results.
Traffic splitting starts immediately. No deployment needed.
Once your test is running, head to Analytics to see how each variant performs.
Go to Analytics and filter by the specific rule you're testing. You'll see a breakdown of Variant A vs Variant B.
Compare views, click-through rate, and conversions between variants. Look at the data by segment to understand how different regions respond to each version.
Give your test at least 1–2 weeks to gather meaningful data. If one variant clearly outperforms the other, disable the traffic split and go with the winner.
Start with a 50/50 split for the fastest, most statistically meaningful results.
Run tests for at least 1-2 weeks. Short tests produce noisy data.
Test one thing at a time. If you change the headline AND the CTA, you won't know which change made the difference.
Combine A/B testing with segments: test different approaches for different regions. What works in Europe might not work in Asia.
Document your tests. Keep a simple log of what you tested, the split, the duration, and the result. Your future self will thank you.
Don't stop at the first win. The best teams test continuously — each winning variant becomes the new baseline for the next test.
